Tell me about TUVALU

TUVALU is an island nation with four islands and five atolls.
Tuvalu faces issues of limited resources and climate change, which causes scarcity of jobs, poor education, and an uncertain future. Because of the rising sea level, Tuvaluans are obligated to consider migrating to neighboring countries. Concerns of displacement, loss of homeland, inadequate education, and limited competitive advantage in the working market is problematic.
As Tuvaluans prepare to both stay at home and help their country or to evacuate, outside intervention and assistance is necessary to help meet the needs of the local people. That is where WE come in. As members of the Tuvalu project under the non-profit organization Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) we have come together to gather school supplies (including laptops, books, and other materials) to help improve the classroom setting. A group of approximately 10 students will leave to Tuvalu on March 1st to do humanitarian work and conduct workshops to prepare Tuvaluans for employment abroad while at the same time helping to improve the current situation on the island of Tuvalu. See map below for where we are going - FUNAFUTI.

We are super excited to get to Tuvalu and make a difference on the island. Tuvalu is one of the five least developed Pacific Island nations and SIFE is dedicated to building relationships of trust and friendship that can last into the long-term. We have the ability to help - HELP we will!
